Surf at 15th Street Del Mar in San Diego...for Sunday afternoon...May 26...at about 4p.
Glassy conditions due to strong off shore winds...

went to bolinas today 5-26-96 sunday. low /fog-overcast with drizzle and high winds . went out for a couple hours but it was really getting blown out. oh well went to santa cruz yesterday and it was small but rideable surf.... just not a real memorial type memorial day weekend for surfing
Well I just returned from surfing Roca Bruha (Witches Rock) in Costa Rica. Insane, nothing broke that was less than 6 feet. The good sets were rolling in with unbeleivable 12 to 15 foot faces (lefts and rights). The water was 78 degrees and the air was 85. Hated to fly back into San Fran yesterday.
Montara sucked on Monday May 20 wind chopped no one out at either end but rockaway was awsome one surfer out.
Well, I guess I've just been lucky but today from my house it appeared the surf would suck. High winds whipped the house all day long. I said "fuck it" and went anyway to find these great head high wedges rolling in. Turned out to be a really fun afternoon session that was totally unexpected. Lets hope it's the same tomorrow.

We are situated on the south eastern coast of Australia. In the town of Gerringong approximately 1.5 hours drive south of Sydney. Gerringong is a small country town with an outstanding point break. It is home to Australian Surfer Todd Prestige. Today we have a solid 2m southerly swell with a 25-30 knot southerly wind. Werri point is going off.
Went to Santa Cruz and it was ROCKING..!!.mitchell's cove,steamers,cowells..all had excellent surf. Caught some good waves in the morning until I ripped my wetty open. This lady surfer came up behind me when we were paddling back out and said my ass was hanging out ..sure enough I was mooning the line up...!!! I was having such a good session that I didnt even notice the chill...!! Guess Im going shopping tommorow for a new suit...
Surfed Rockaway Beach today south of San Francisco. Huge beautiful walls with lots of shoulder and a very heavy drop-in. Loving life and livin' large today......KILLER spring surf here in NorCal..... Only one other surfer out too. Height on the outside waves was easily double overhead and rollin' like a fuckin' steamroller.......
Santa Cruz was goin off!!! The Hook was six and up from about five oclock.
Steamers was the shit. About 13 feet and up. Cowells was up to about
eight feet. Not bad for summer.
Here in South Africa / Cape Town
The surf on the Indain side is quite shitty, one ft on shore and misty.
With local spots, Danger Beach, Cool Bay and Cork Bay Reef being your best bet.
but on the Atlantic side its 8 ft, at Misty Cliffs the Hook and Long Beach (Outerkom)

went surfing Friday 5-10-95 and bolinas was flat 1~2ft so i went to stinson and
there were some small but ridable waves if you were willing to work for them .
Basically its flatter than a old road kill out there... :-(
went out this morning at Judah ST. SF, 3-4', fun, pretty glassy until
the enemy (afternoon winds) kicked in. Can't stay out late and party if
you want to catch the pre-wind fun...

you fools are all lucky to be up north where the size is- I'm a transplanted SF boy goin' to school down in san diego, we've been having great small waves past week- but yesterday and today there's been absolutely nothing ANYWHERE along the coast- I'm not talking small waves- but NO waves at all--fucking SoCal....
You all missed it. Rockaway this afternoon. A mysto point break on Monday....double overhead and throwing.
well, this morning at around 7 was looking a little closed out. which surprised me since the waves were rolling fine yesterday. the wind sux. hard. but by around 9am the waves were picking back up...
too bad for me i had to go to work.
Cronkite is goin off foo wit da 30 mph onshores and confused swells.
When are we going to get some decent surf!?!?!?! Kyle down at SF Surf shaped me a 6'10". I picked it up 3 weeks ago and have only been in the water once!
Damn! This spring wind thing is a fucking nightmare. When the winds finally subside we are going to have some sweet, but probably small NorCal surf. Waiting for redemption.......
Didn't surf today but drove by the ocean and saw some nicely shaped, rideable waves with less wind than you would expect. Goin' out tomorrow afternoon instead.
